Who are we?
The Victoria Forum is a coalition of local community councils advocating on behalf of local residents who are concerned about the future of the Victoria Infirmary. The Forum members include local residents with experience in architecture, in 3rd sector organisations and business. All have experience of ‘public consultation’ that is too little and too late to have any significant effect.
The Forum is not opposed to re-development and recognises there are commercial as well as social, design, transport and other factors. The Forum aims to act as an advocate for community consultation on this major development site and to use their skills and experience to negotiate. The Forum is neutral. It has no pre-determined view on what the outcome of the re-development should be other than that the community should have a voice and that its voice should be listened to.
